눈양태과(Family Parabembridae)는 눈양태속(Parabembras)의 3종으로 구성되어 있다. 열거하면 Parabembras curta(눈양태/Matron flathead), Parabembras multisquamata(영명 없음), Parabembras robinsoni(African deep-water flathead)이다. 이들 3종은 빨간양태과(Bembridae/Deepwater flatheads)에 소속시키는 학자들과 눈양태과(Parabembridae)로 독립시키는 학자들이 공존하여 혼선이 있는 중이다(2023년 현재). 나의 글에서는 주로 기준을 삼는 정보 출처는 J.S.
